From the heart of Swahililand comes a trio of postcards—each one weaving art and music to echo the rhythm and poetry of the Swahili coast. Created by The Pwani Club, these postcards are tangible keepsakes where story meets sound: maneno na mdundo. Each card comes alive through a curated playlist, its scannable QR code linking directly to Spotify and turning every postcard into an invitation to listen and feel.

Born in 2021 from a desire to reclaim and reframe how Swahili culture is seen and celebrated, The Pwani Club is more than a brand; it is a space that champions the language, artistry and spirit of coastal life.
Late last year, the Club released its first curated playlist, Mambo Ni Pwani, inviting listeners to dive into the sounds of Swahili life and its enduring love for taarab — the timeless melody of the coast. Then came Yearning in Kiswahili, released on Valentine’s Day, followed by Kwa Raha Zangu, each offering a unique musical journey, and all now available on Spotify.
What began as a digital space has grown into a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of Old Town, Mombasa — a place where Swahili creativity lives and breathes. At The Pwani Club’s store on Sir Mbarak Hinawy Street, you can browse signature t-shirts, totes and home goods sourced from across the coast, each piece a celebration of craftsmanship and cultural pride.
The Pwani Postcards are available exclusively in-store, waiting to be discovered, shared and cherished. Keep it close or post it far — each postcard carries a little piece of Swahililand, a reminder that its spirit travels wherever it is cherished.
